Celta de Vigo

Celta de Vigo really shouldn't be in Segunda División - although I'm certain that their Galician rivals Deportivo are quite happy to see them there.

Celta are one of Spain's big clubs and have spent 46 seasons in Primera, which have included periods of great success.

The last Golden Period began in 1997 and continued until 2004 - for six seasons finished amongst European positions in La Liga and in 2003 even finished fourth and played in the Champions League.

The Galician club took some important scalps during this period, including famous victories over Liverpool, Benfica and Juventus.

They went down to Segunda for a season in 2004 and then definitively in 2007, when they almost went into liquidation.

Celta have been in Segunda for too long now and, if only because I've enjoyed some great games at Balaídos, I'm looking forward to seeing them back in Primera soon.
