Elche CF

Elche CF- in footballing terms - are like a sleeping cocodile.

Generally, considered a Segunda club, Elche spent the best part of the sixties in Primera, reaching the final of La Copa in 1969.

Most of the last few decades have been spent in the Silver Division, but Elche give the sensation of aspiring to more.


Their stadium - the Martínez Valero - is pretty impressive and has been the preferred venue for the Spain national team on a number of occasions in the last few years.

I reckon that Elche are a bit of a dark horse and could well be back in Primera in years to come.
