Are you thinking about hiring a car or do you need to find out how to get to Palma de Mallorca Airport?

Palma de Mallorca Airport Information

Palma de Mallorca-Son Sant Joan Airport (PMI) is operated by the Spanish Civil Aviation Authority, AENA - Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea - and is the main international airport serving the island of Majorca and the other Balearic Islands.

The airport is located approximately 8 km east of Palma de Mallorca, adjacent to the village of Can Pastilla.

Previously known as Son Sant Joan Airport, it is the third largest airport in Spain, after Madrid-Barajas and Barcelona Airport. During the summer months it is one of the busiest airports in Europe and is a hub for German carrier Air Berlin.

The airport can handle 25 million passengers per year, with a capacity to dispatch 12,000 passengers per hour. Future plans include an increase of the passenger capacity to 32 million passengers in 2010 and to 38 million passengers in 2015.

Palma de Mallorca-Son Sant Joan Airport now consists of four gate areas: Terminal A is mostly used for domestic flights to Mallorca, while Terminals B, C and D are for international traffic.

Visit the AENA Flights To Mallorca Website for up-to-date travel information or call the AENA Customer Assistance and Information Service on 902 404 704.

Bus services run between the airport and the centre of Palma and the main tourist areas around the city. Visitors to other parts of the island can catch a bus or train from the city centre

There is an efficient if expensive taxi service and local and international companies offer car rentals.
