Girona FC

Despite the importance of the city they come from, Girona FC are a club that belong pretty solidly in Tercera - I know this because I've seen them play against Sant Andreu innumerable times in the last ten years.

However, they were promoted from Tercera to Segunda B at the end of 2006-07 and then to Segunda A a season later - absolutely incredible!

I have to say, though, that I'm really happy for them but . . .

I'm a little worried that they are planning to modernise their fantastic little Montilivi stadium.

Whenever I've been to watch them, I've never paid to get in because the ground was only covered on three sides and there used to be a hill on the open side where you could stand and watch the match for free.

Apparently, improvements are planned - the price of success!
