Getting To Madrid International Airport

Madrid-Barajas Airport is located twelve kilometres to the northeast of the city of Madrid in the River Jarama valley and is about a 30-minute drive from the city centre.

Although Madrid Airport is well-signposted from all directions, as passengers will be driving in from different parts of Spain, here's an overview of the main access roads.

From the central Madrid, take c/de Alcala out of town and then the A-2 highway in the direction of M-30 Norte for about eight kilometres. From here you can follow the Aeropuerto signs at Exit 12 which takes you onto the N100 / M-14. If you're heading for Terminal 4, drive past Terminals 1, 2 and 3 onto the M-13 and then the M-12.

For Terminals 1, 2 and 3, if you're coming from the south, take Exit 9A for the M-14 towards the airport. For Terminal 4, take Exit 8 for the M-12.

For Terminals 1, 2 and 3, if you're coming from the north along the M-40, take Exit 2B onto the M-11 from where you take Exit 3, which leads to the M14 and the older terminals. For Terminal 4, take Exit 2A from the M-40, Exit 3 from the R-2 and then stay on the M-12 for the airport.
