CD Numancia

CD Numancia were promoted to Primera at the start of the 2008-09 season and it looks quite probable that they'll be going back down again.

This is a shame. They beat Barcelona in the first game of the season in their under 10,000-seater stadium 'Los Pajaritos' - which incidentally means 'Birdie Song' in English.

However, one of the reasons I love Spanish football so much is that modest clubs like Numancia get their moment of glory on a fairly regular basis.

I'm looking forward to seeing them bounce back.
